Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of designing instruction based on the ASSURE Modelon learning and progress motivation of second year guidance school science lesson.
Method: In this research, a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test design was used. The statistical population of the study consisted of all girls in the Second year guidance school of Andimeshk City. 40 students were selected by multi-stage random sampling method. Subjects were divided into two groups of control and experimental and they were instructed in traditional method and the ASSURE model, respectively. Data gathering tool was a researcher-made learning questionnaire and Hermann's motivation development questionnaire. For both groups, pre-test, post-test was performed for data analysis, statistical methods were used at two levels of descriptive (mean and standard deviation of scores) and inferential (covariance analysis).
Results: The results showed that students who had trained in the ASSURE model, are more likely to learn and improve their motivation than traditional ones. According to the results of this study, it is suggested that the ASSURE model be used to enhance the learning and motivation of student progress.
